I never expected people to change their views on the issues. I DID expect them to coherently witness the negligence, cruelty, and outright absurdity of this administration, and I foolishly convinced myself only the fringe side of the GOP would feel like another 4 years is just what this country needs.
Even the Republicans I personally know eventually had to admit they think Trump is an idiot and a jackass, but I assumed this realization would mean a lambasting at the polls. Surely these same people couldn’t possible vote for this criminal again, could they? I guess they could, and I’m still in disbelief.
And 11 million more people voted for Trump this time. WTF!
I recall watching the 2016 debates, listening to his answers and thinking…he didn’t say a damn thing there. Saying you have great ideas or a tremendous plan is not a plan. Nobody is going to fall for this imbecile of a con-man. He was the joke candidate, and nearly 63 million people voted for him. Gross.
Wow, he wins. Silver spoon Richie Rich who has about a dozen failed businesses and a half dozen hotel/casino bankruptcies, wins the hearts of dolts everywhere by answering every question with no substance, giving other candidates childish nicknames, and bullying everyone else. That’s your guy, right?
Maybe you’re a one issue voter, and you vote for whatever candidate tells you they will protect the single thing you care about. If this is how you operate, shame on you for only thinking about yourself. Oh, and another thing. He never gave a shit about you. You got played.
This guy tells you what you want to hear and will do so until saying the opposite benefits him. Why do you think so many Christian Evangelicals support him like he’s the second coming? Is it because he’s a pathological liar, a philanderer, an adulterer, an uncompassionate egomaniac, a disrespectful misogynist, a racist?
Nope. Sure, most of that stuff conflicts with what they’re taught, but he’s their guy because he tells them he is against a woman having bodily autonomy.
Newsflash. Twenty years ago he was pro-choice, but that doesn’t suit him anymore running as a Republican. His answer to that flip flop? Oh, I’ve evolved. Sorry bud, but your base probably doesn’t believe in evolution either.
I will never understand the cult of Trump. I’m just thankful he’s done tearing this country apart from a position of leadership. I doubt he’ll go away as other past presidents respectfully have done once their term is over. No, he’ll go back to being just another pathetic internet troll.
