Flashback: He admitted Trump’s actions were impeachable, but then chose to acquit because half the country would find it illegitimate and nothing short of a coup d’état. What?
Of course, now that Trump refuses to concede after his popular vote shellacking in November, Little Marco is (not surprisingly) changing his tune, despite..ahem, half the country finding Trump’s threat of remaining in power illegitimately a true coup d’état.
What has Marco gone and said now?
First of all you fuckwit, Dr. Fauci didn’t lie. He gave the best recommendation he could with the information he had at the time, especially since they thought there would be a mask shortage and wanted to ensure hospital staff had all they needed. When new data came out and the CDC updated it’s recommendation, he did as well.
As for your elite bubbles, you complained how unfair the media was in reporting on Covid-19 in your state, and you compared Florida to New York, the latter having a much higher infection rate while still receiving favorable media coverage. You’re basically saying this erodes public trust. For what, the truth?
I can’t believe I even have to explain this part, but….here goes.
First of all, New York is the largest city in the country Marco. Transmission is going to be that much easier in a crowded, urban environment early on in a pandemic.
However, if you look at the numbers now, you’ll see Florida has more infections per 100k people than New York. It sounds like you wanted the media to concentrate more on those early numbers and less on pandemic response leadership. Well, fear not Marco, your state now ranks lower than New York in both categories, so you lost no matter how you slice it.

As for your whining about your Governor being skewered compared to New York’s leadership, that one is also easy. Desantis has followed the irresponsible GOP party line of downplaying the severity of the pandemic while Cuomo has tried his best with mask mandates, restrictions on businesses, and even implementing a lockdown to try and flatten the curve.
That’s the truth and here’s another. It’s not the reporting of the truth that sows discord among the people. It’s when their leadership tells them to not believe it.
The best part of this tweet is his nescience to elites while getting his vaccine shot ahead of countless front line workers, the elderly, and other high risk citizens.
